Wok on the OFYR: how it works
A fire plate like the OFYR is a steel ring on top of a fire bowl. The outer edge gets to around 200 °C, the inner edge up to 300 °C, and the fire burns openly in the middle. That is exactly where the wok belongs: it sits in the ring above the embers and gets the full heat from below, while meat, fish or vegetables cook on the plate next to it. So you cook two things at once: the main dish for everyone in the wok, the sides on the plate. The thin carbon steel reacts instantly when you add embers or push them aside.
Wok 40 with handle: toss it by hand
The Wok 40 with handle is 40 cm in diameter with an 80 cm handle and wooden grip. You stand at a distance from the heat and toss vegetables and meat from the wrist. It fits fire plates from OFYR, Flare Grill and other brands with a ring insert, plancha systems and the campfire. At 2.8 kg it is the lighter of the two woks and the right one when one person cooks and everyone else watches.
Wok on the campfire: with the tripod
No fire plate? Both woks also work over open embers. The pan tripod holds the wok securely over the fire: three legs, a sturdy ring, rated up to 70 kg. The legs stand firm even on uneven ground, and when the wok comes off the fire, the tripod becomes its trivet.
Hand-forged, not pressed
Industrial woks are pressed from sheet metal. Ours are hand-forged from carbon steel in our forge in Vareš, blow by blow. The hammer marks stay visible, every wok is one of a kind. Carbon steel is lighter than cast iron, heats up faster and develops a darker patina with every use.

Which wok fits your fire plate?
Both Fyreza woks are hand-forged from 2 mm carbon steel. The difference is size and handle: the 55 is built for large groups, the 40 for tossing by hand.

Yes. The Wok 55 Pro fits the ring of the OFYR 75, 85 and 100. The Wok 40 with handle fits fire plates from OFYR, Flare Grill and other brands with a ring insert.
The Wok 55 Pro handles meat and vegetables for up to 20 people in one go. The Wok 40 with handle is meant for smaller groups, when one person stands at the fire and tosses.
Not on induction or electric hobs. The Wok 55 Pro is built for fire and gas rings. The Wok 40 with handle works on a gas stove, but the handle sticks out far beyond the hob.
Before first use, apply a thin coat of oil, heat until it smokes, let it cool and repeat two or three times. After cooking, clean only with warm water and a brush, no detergent, no dishwasher, then dry and oil lightly. Step by step in our care guide.
Carbon steel. It is much lighter, heats up faster and reacts instantly when the heat changes. That matters in a wok, because you constantly switch between searing hot and gentle cooking.
For the 55, the 60 cm wok ladle, so your hand stays away from the embers. The pan lid fits the 40. Cooking without a fire plate? Then you need the pan tripod.
